I am reminded today of how challenging international adoption can be. It is so easy to feel frustrated. Some things can be amazingly hard to accomplish. Some things can take a long time. Even things that you think should be quick and easy, are at times neither. Being organized, industrious, and upbeat get you only so far. You are at the mercy of other people in more ways than you like to think about. Sometimes you feel so alone. It's hard for people to understand what you are going through. And the things people can say.
But then there are the good days too with news of the best kind. And those good days of hearing of other people receiving wonderful news. And those good days just dreaming about receiving good news. Just like breathing in the freshest, cleanest, sweetest air into tired, worn-out lungs.
Let us pray for one another through the good days and the rough ones. Let us cry out "Abba!" to the One who really knows to sustain us in our journey and to fill us with gratitude, love, and joy.
