On the day you were born

Sweet little son of mine,

I have been trying to figure out what exactly we were doing when you took your first breath in this big big world.  I have found one thing that is so precious that I was doing on the actual day of your birth.  I signed up for the yahoo group for families adopting from Honduras!  Isn't that amazing!  A friend of mine, another Honduran adoptive momma, had told me about it, and so I signed up!  On the day you were born, I was actually reading the experiences of other moms and dads who had adopted or were in the process of adopting children from Honduras.  I think that is such an incredible connection to you, and I love how God touched the heart of my friend to tell me about this group and how He also touched my heart so that I signed up for the group on the very day that you were born!

And here's one more thing.  This photo.  It was actually taken two days before you were born, but it awfully close to the day you made your big arrival.  Here are your big brothers, just waiting for you:

We attended a birthday party for Baby Jesus at the Pauline Books and Media bookstore!!  We do this every year, or at least every year since Mario was a baby.  You'll get your turn too!  Mommy's favorite part is dressing up in costumes and getting photos taken with Baby Jesus in the manger.  Mario (the king) and Erik (the shepherd) generally appease Mommy so that they can then go to the back room and get birthday cake and juice!  Looking at this picture brings tears to my eyes, knowing that at this moment, you could have been the baby lying in the manger.  And there are your brothers:  anticipating your birth and rejoicing with Baby Jesus at the same time.  God is so good to us.
