I was talking to a friend the other night who asked about the length of this adoption compared to when we adopted Mario and Erik. I answered that this one was much longer than either of those, way way longer than either of those. Then I did the math on my fingers and realized that this adoption (which is obviously not complete) has already taken longer than Mario and Erik's adoptions put together as well as the time in between!
The adoption ball began rolling back on October 7, 2004, when we signed the contract with our home study provider. We signed with our adoption agency a week later.....found out about Mario on April 19, 2005....and brought him home November 18, 2005. Then we signed a new contract with our adoption agency on May 30, 2006....found out about Erik on June 9, 2006....and brought Erik home on January 20, 2007. So start to finish, from when we started the adoption for Mario to when we brought Erik home was 2 years, 3 months, and 2 weeks. And as you can see from our little ticker, we are already past that amount of time.
